to sustain the following ATPF Programs:

 

  • Parent Mentor Program -- over 500 families have been served to date, at a cost to ATPF of over $30,000, bringing parents new to an autism spectrum diagnosis together with families who can offer guidance and wisdom from their own experience.
  • Preschool Screenings -- ATPF has screened over 4,000 preschoolers at numerous preschools throughout the San Diego County & Bay Area communities. Kids who show warning signs of language delay are referred on for treatment at an early age. It costs ATPF $31 per child per screening.
  • Research -- ATPF has funded $60,000 towards autism research at UCSD. ATPF is currently funding on-going research on our Early Intervention Model. Our research was presented in May 2010 at the International Child Neurology Congress and new research will be presented in January 2012 at the International Education Conference.
  • SDSU Lacrosse & USD Football Player Mentor Programs -- over 300 children & families have participated in this program to date, bringing kids on the autism spectrum together with local athlete role models to play games and have fun. Providing this program free to our community has cost ATPF over $10,500 so far. 
  • ATPF Girls Mentor Program -- Led by Stephanie Schroder and the National Charity League, over 40 ATPF girls have already taken advantage of fun girls-only events like handbag design workshops.
  • Parent & Child Musical Playgroup -- ATPF has committed to providing this event twice monthly, and over 40 children have participated so far! It costs ATPF $300 per month ($3600 per year) to provide this service to our families.    
  • AutismFITT Club -- ATPF has already provided 3 scholarships for low income teens and adults on the autism spectrum to participate in this fitness program at Addie's Studio, at a cost of $180 per scholarship per month.  
  • InHarmony Preschool Teacher Trainings/Classroom Resource -- ATPF has trained over 130 preschool teachers in San Diego County and the Bay Area. The InHarmony program has impacted over 2,247 preschool children directly from ATPF's efforts. It costs ATPF $60 per classroom for InHarmony materials.
  • Early Intervention Preschool Teacher Trainings -- ATPF has trained over 376 preschool teachers in our Early Intervention Programs in the San Diego County & Bay Area communities, at a cost of $225 per session. 
  • Speech & Language Pathology Student Trainings -- ATPF has trained over 750 Speech & Language Pathology students on our Early Intervention screening programs, at a cost of over $1300 per training. 
  • Kibbles DVD Parent Resource -- ATPF has provided more than 150 Kibbles DVDs to parents. It costs ATPF $12.50 per DVD.
  • Spanish Language Handbook -- Created by Dr. Jean Novak and her students at SJSU, ATPF has provided 500 copies of this handbook to Spanish-speaking parents and teachers of children with autism.
